Loose Diamonds

When purchasing good quality loose diamonds for your engagement ring and other jewelry, it is important that you make sure your diamonds are graded and certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The GIA is the leading diamond grading service in the world since 1931.

It is not uncommon for a diamond shopper to come across an engagement ring that looks like it has a real diamond, but actually has a lab grown diamond like Moissanite. Lab grown diamonds or synthetics look real but have very little or no value compared to real natural diamonds. Diamond testers will sometimes test a synthetic stone as a real diamond. So be extra careful when purchasing loose diamonds as more synthetic diamonds are showing up on the market every day.

Another thing to be aware of when shopping for loose diamonds is that some diamonds are being tampered with to improve the quality and look. One of the ways they do this is by heating the diamond, filling in the fractured areas, and finally lasering the diamond to remove the inclusions.

This is why at Albarian Jewelry we only sell GIA graded diamonds. When you buy a diamond or engagement ring from us, you can be sure you are purchasing a diamond of quality and value. Click here to go to our Loose Diamonds Search.
